Branch committee and staffing update

Some more changes on the branch committee as members step up to assist the branch in its development.

Firstly Jordan Creed the Labour Link officer has offered his services as treasurer of the branch releasing Peter Bell (the current treasurer) to move to the post of branch secretary.

We have now elected Anna Campbell to the position of LGBT+ officer and Paul Hyde to the Retired Members Officer. Welcome Anna and Paul.

The branch is still looking to recruit to the position of Chair, so if any member is interested to know more about this committee position, please contact me, Peter Bell, on branchsecretary@unisoncvob.org.uk OR if you know someone who would make a good branch chair then just let me know and I can approach them and see if they are willing to serve the branch in this way.

We were sad to say goodbye to Tony Cisse as Communications Officer but our Welfare Officer Marcela has agreed to cover this post whilst still covering their old role.

If you are interested to know about any of the officer position, then please DO get in touch.

If you would like to contact any of the branch officers contact details can be found on the Branch Committee Page.

We also have some exciting changes amongst our branch staff coming up. The branch has received a number of applications for the post of Caseworker and these applications are being considered at the moment. In the meantime we have been fortunate to be able to recruit a recently retired Unison officer to work one day per week on casework and Region have seconded a well-qualified member of staff to the branch for 2 days per week.

So although case loads are still challenging, the branch are hopefully beginning to see some light at the end of the casework tunnel!
